06 10 14 - France: Vandalism on a Monument dedicated to the Armenian Genocide

Two days after the vote of the French Parliament adopting the text of law penalizing the Armenian Genocide, the memorial set up in the town of Chaville, close to Versailles, was deteriorated in the night from the 13 to October 14. In fact, two plates engraved in bronze, dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide were torn off base forming an case in back plan of the work of art. It acts of a sculpture consisted a tangle of the letters of the Armenian alphabet from which is detached in the center, the draft of a cross. The police force undertook an investigation immediately.
