ASSASSIN, MAKES PROVOCATIVE APPEARANCE NEXT TO DERVIS EROGLU
Gibrahayer, Nicosia 21 February, 2005: Former TRNC "Agriculture Minister" turned assassin Kenan Akkin, who made a name for himself by gunning down Greek Cypriot demonstrator Solomos Solomou, made a provocative and rare appearance on Sunday's "elections" next to former "Prime Minister" Dervis Eroglu.
Akin, whose "heroism" is recorded on tape and made the international news headlines a decade ago, is wanted by Interpol for gunning down a Greek Cypriot demonstrator during an anti-occupation rally in Dherynia.
Kenan Akin is a Turkish settler who took part in the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974. In an interview to Aktuel http://www.hr-action.org/chr/Aktuel103196.html he had said. "Why are you making the killing of a dog sound so important?"
