Simranjit Singh Mann, former member of Lok Sabha (Parliament of Penjab) and President political party Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), majority at the Parliament, evoked the Armenian Genocide in comparison with the attack of the Indian army against the Sikhs rebels on June 6, 1984.

Asserting the independence of Khalistan, Sikhs, with at their head, Shiromani Akali Dal, considered as an extremist by the Indians, will be cut down with its men on the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar during the operation Blue Star. Today, Simranjit Singh Mann require from the Parliament to apologise for the operation Blue Star. He termed the attack as genocide committed on the community, and that it was no less than that of the « Armenian Genocide ». It was an attack on the Sikh community as a whole, Sikh Sangat News report.
