16 05 2008 - France : Once again an Armenian Genocide Monument desecrated

The Memorial of the Valence city erected to the memory of the 1 500 000 Armenians, victims of ottoman government in 1915, was desecrated in the night from 14 to May 15, 2008. An illegible inscription painted in black to the manner of a tag covers the monument base.

Coordination of the French Armenian Organizations from Drome-Ardeche area's (COADA) deposited a complaint to the Police station of Valence.

In November 2005, Valence had been the theater of physical confrontations between the Turkish and Armenian communities.

Since january 2008, 7 Armenian memorials were vandalized: Saint-Chamond, Creteil, Lyon, Valence (France); Cardiff (UK.), Budapest (Hungria) and Lviv (Ukraine).
