Hrant Dink was a taboo-breaking member of the Armenian community in Turkey and editor-in-chief of the bilingual Turkish-Armenian weekly Agos newspaper. A prominent critical voice and a sincere advocate of Turkish-Armenian dialogue, he was shot and killed in front of his newspaper office on January 19, 2007.
