NURHAN ARMAN TO CONDUCT ROSSINI ORCHESTRA OF ITALY
Nurhan Arman, Canadian-Armenian Music Director of Sinfonia Toronto will make his third trip this season to Italy to conduct the renowned Orchestra Sinfonica 'Giacchino Rossini'.

The concerts will take place on March 24 at Teatro Rossini of Rossini's hometown Pesaro and on March 26 at Teatro Diana of Naples. The all-Italian programme consists of works by Verdi, Mercadante and Rossini.

Based in Pesaro, Orchestra Sinfonica 'Giacchino Rossini' makes its home at the Teatro Rossini. It performs both as a symphonic ensemble and as an opera orchestra. It appears regularly at the famous Rossini Opera Festival and tours in Italy and abroad. It has recorded many CDs of Rossini's music.

Maestro Arman is a frequent guest conductor in Italy. He has conducted the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, l’Orchestra da Camera Milano Classica, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Orchestra Sinfonico Tito Schipa, Florence Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico. Last summer he appeared at the Settimana Mozartiana festival as guest conductor with the Sibiu Hermanstadt Philharmonic.

Immediately after he returns to Toronto he will appear with Sinfonia Toronto on Saturday, March 31 for a Mozart in Jeans concert - 3:30 p.m. at the Walmer Church (188 Lowther Av.).
